November 2020
Since Tavistock is the only World Heritage Town in Devon,Debo realised it needed sprucing up, so she got cracking and helped make many changes. Debo asked disabled people where they had difficulty and some significant changes were made at the local hospital and some crossing areas and pavements.
More attractive LED low carbon street lamps have been erected in the Conservation area (roads and buildings.) Better for nocturnal animals & precious ecology.
Tons of litter have been collected by volunteer litter picking group set up by 2 ladies and Debo in 2011. One recent post on her counsellor Facebook page, show the difference Debo made at a street corner, all her own work! (See picture)
She’s also worked hard to help reinstate Tavistock as a Fair Trade town.
Being ever concerned about speeding traffic and animal deaths on local moor, she’s organised meetings with our Devon and Cornwall police and crime Commissioner (PCC) Alison Hernandez eg 25/11/20 6-7.30pm for locally elected WDBC & parish councillors on road safety concerns.
All in all, Debo is one of the most hard-working councillors in the country. Please follow her on social media.
