To all constituents from the Chairman of the Association, Jeff Wilton-Love, letter of support for Sir Geoffrey Cox
I would like to state my support and appreciation for our hardworking representative, Sir Geoffrey Cox. It can often go unnoticed just how much work is involved and the burden of demands placed on a regular basis.
In September, Sir Geoffrey Cox opened 235 cases, averaging more than 11 cases per day.
He recently visited every parish in person, made appearances at the Woolsery Show, Wings Academy twice and was at St Margrets Church in September too. He was present at the Bideford Town Council meeting to present the Levelling Up bid, successfully securing Bideford's part of unprecedented funding for the area, comprising an initial pot of £400 million with more to come in.
He has attended meetings with farmers, met with people about camping on Dartmoor (which I am convinced he was instrumental in that rule change), he wrote a letter to South West Water with regards to the sewage application and he is overseeing what happens with it as it moves ahead.
The Marine Research Centre being built in conjunction with the Universities was also Sir Geoffrey’s work. The dockyard in Appledore, next door to where the Marine Research Centre will be reopening was because Sir Geoffrey banged his fists on desks until people listened.
The Levelling Up fund is going to provide huge amounts to the area and I believe you will have to look long and hard to find an MP who has done as much, through adversity, as our MP.
I believe our constituency is lucky to have Sir Geoffrey working tirelessly on its behalf.
