The Association Officers would like to offer their congratulations to our MP, The Right Honourable Sir Geoffrey Cox and his wife Lady Jeanie Cox. As you might have heard, Geoffrey was awarded a knighthood in the New Year Honours list for his parliamentary and political service.
Geoffrey served two Prime Ministers in his role as Attorney General, the government's top legal adviser. Geoffrey's principled and ethical approach to the role won him many plaudits as did his electrifying speeches in the House of Commons. Geoffrey commented, "It was a great privilege to serve as Her Majesty's General and Advocate General of Northern Ireland, particularly at a time so critical to the nation's future, and I am honoured to receive a knighthood from Her Majesty for that service."
