"I was first elected to represent you in 2007, and since then the interests and wellbeing of my residents have been my main priority. It has been a great deal of hard work - but like everything in life you “get what you put in”.
Over the past four years I have been Chair of the Plans Committee, which has been extremely challenging and complex, involving much travelling and reading of documents and correspondence. I have also sat on various working groups and sub-committees. As with all Councils across the country, Torridge has had to make some staff and financial cuts. However, the programme “Transformation of Torridge” to ensure that the council goes forward in the most positive way, has now started. I have been part of this idea and working group from its inception, and if elected I can see this programme through to a successful result.
As your local Conservative, I have a track record of working for you all year round, achieving real successes for our community and keeping you informed. I strongly believe that local knowledge is imperative to local issues, and I feel that this is one of my great strengths, coupled with my enthusiasm and hard work, and my love of the district. Our rural communities are so important and they must be allowed to grow and thrive in order to protect them for the next generation."
